Shell decay explores decay as a process of material exploration and innovation that challenges dominant notions of material development. As the industrial revolution continues to strive, materials are being recognised as an impression of the maker as to how it should behave rather than the actualisation of the material. 'Decay’ typically seen as an end-of-life material treatment is brought to the earlier stages of processing materials, exploring new possible materiality with the collaboration of humans and nature, challenging existing material treatments.
